Today – February 2, Youth Day is celebrated in Azerbaijan.
According to the decree signed by the national leader Heydar Aliyev on February 2, 1997, February 2 was declared the Youth Day of Azerbaijan. Since then, this day has been solemnly celebrated in Azerbaijan. Heydar Aliyev’s trust in youth and young people is already being confirmed today. Today, youth policy in our country is experiencing a new stage in essence and quality. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev confirms the national leader’s commitment to youth policy with his decisions. The conditions created for the spiritual development of the country’s youth, patriotic upbringing, education in foreign countries, and the formation and development of youth organizations are a clear manifestation of the great care shown by the head of state in this area. As a clear proof of the further increase in patriotic feelings among young people due to the successful policy implemented under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the determination of young people to fight for the freedom of our occupied lands from the first day of the Patriotic War can be cited. At that time, tens of thousands of young people voluntarily gathered in front of military commissariats to go to the war zone. During the Patriotic War, we witnessed how important the loyalty of young people to the state and the Motherland was. The correct and purposeful policy pursued by our state in this area created ample opportunities for young people to realize their knowledge and skills.
On behalf of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, we sincerely congratulate all Azerbaijani youth and wish them greater success in their future activities.
