January 20 – a bloody and glorious page of our history
Despite the fact that thirty-five years have passed since the Bloody January tragedy, that date has been forever engraved in the bloody memory of our people. The January tragedy has remained in the memory of our people as a page of sadness and grief, pride and heroism. That event has entered the heroic epic of our people as one of the brightest pages. We are indebted to the martyrs of January 20 for the restoration of our state independence and our freedom. The Azerbaijani people annually commemorate the January 20 tragedy, which left an indelible mark on its bloody memory, flock to the Alley of Martyrs, and commemorate the dear memory of their heroic sons with deep respect. This year, hundreds of thousands of people also flocked to the alley to visit our martyrs.
Today, the management and staff of the “Neftchi” Sports Club also commemorated the dear memory of those who died in the Bloody January tragedy with respect. Coaches, athletes, as well as club representatives visited the Alley of Martyrs and laid flowers on the graves. May God have mercy on all our martyrs!
