Today, a backgammon tournament was held in Icherisheher among employees of state institutions. The tournament featured 48 participants (8 women, 40 men) from 21 institutions.
The SOCAR team participated with a full lineup (2 men, 2 women). Our representatives performed successfully, winning 1 gold and 1 silver medal. Samira Jafarova, an instructor-methodologist at the Sports Hall Complex of the Social Development Department, won her first match against a representative of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport with a score of 3:2, and in the semi-finals, she defeated a representative of the Ministry of Culture with the same score, advancing to the final.
Sevda Azizova, an employee of the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, defeated an employee of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport with a score of 4:2 in her first match, and in the semi-finals, she defeated a representative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection with a score of 3:0, becoming the second finalist among women. Thus, in the final, two SOCAR employees faced each other. In this match, Samira Jafarova won with a score of 3:2, becoming the champion of the tournament. Therefore, the SOCAR team won 1 gold and 1 silver medal, emerging as the overall team champion of the tournament.
