The freestyle wrestlers of “Neftçi” Sports Club concluded the U-17 World Championship, held in Amman, the capital of Jordan, with 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.
Our representative Hüseyn Ismayilov (60 kg) advanced to the final by defeating Britain’s Danuş Jovkar (4:1), Iran’s Farhad Khateri (3:2), and Armenia’s Hayk Avanesyan (4:2). In the decisive match, Hüseyn Ismayilov lost to Kyrgyzstan’s Omurbek Ulu with a score of 1:5, securing the silver medal.
Another athlete from the club, Hüseyn Hüseynov (55 kg), finished the World Championship in third place.
