Today, with the support of SOCAR and organized by the “Neftçi” Sports Club, the draw ceremony of the SOCAR-2024 mini-football tournament, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the “Contract of the Century,” which will take place among the employees of oil, gas, and chemical industry enterprises, was held. The event, held at the headquarters of the “Neftçi” Sports Club, began with the club’s general manager for sports and health matters, Elmar Babanlı, conveying the greetings of the club’s leadership to the participants and wishing them success in the upcoming competitions. He then provided detailed information to the participants about the rules of the tournament.
Following this, the sections of the tournament’s regulations were discussed with the active participation of the sports instructors of the enterprises, and their suggestions and opinions were listened to.
Finally, the tournament draw was conducted. According to the results of the draw, 26 teams will compete in 6 groups, with 4 teams in each group and 5 teams in two groups. The teams that secure the first and second places in the group stage will qualify for the final stage.
The SOCAR-2024 mini-football tournament, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the “Contract of the Century,” will continue from August 17 to September 21. The matches will be held on the covered fields of the Baku Olympic Stadium every Saturday and Sunday. The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place at 9:00 AM on August 17 at the same venue.
