A table tennis competition was held among oil, gas and chemical industry employees jointly organized by the “Neftchi” Sports Club and the SOCAR Social Development Department. 52 participants (42 men, 10 women) from 21 enterprises competed in the tournament held at the “Shua” Sports Complex.
The main goal of the competition was to effectively organize the leisure time of oil workers, create friendly relations among them, promote a healthy lifestyle, achieve mass participation in sports, as well as determine the team that will represent SOCAR in this sport in the tournament to be organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports among employees of state institutions.In the tournament held in a tense atmosphere, Iftikhar Maharramov, an employee of the Baku Higher Oil School, won the title of winner among men. Rashadat Gazibeyov (Oil Pipelines Department) took second place, and Nihat Verdiyev (Carbamide Plant) took third place.
In the women’s competition, Svetlana Kayumova, a representative of the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, won. Nargiz Dashdamirova (Department for the Development of Labor Standards) and Nazli Ismayilzadeh (Baku Higher Oil School) shared second and third places, respectively. The winners and prize-winners were presented with diplomas, medals and souvenirs by the “Neftchi” Sports Club.
