The National Championship in shooting was held at the Baku Shooting Center, organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation. More than 70 athletes from various regions of the republic and representing different sports clubs demonstrated their skills in events such as shooting from a pneumatic rifle, shooting from a small-caliber pistol at distances of 50 m and 25 m, and shooting from a pneumatic pistol at a distance of 10 m.
Athletes from the “Neftçi” Sports Club finished the championship with 3 gold and 1 silver medals. Among our shooters, Vladislav Kalmykov won the gold medal with a score of 568 in the 10-meter pneumatic pistol (PTÇ-3) event. Elvin Astanov (565 points) took second place. Another of our representatives, Imran Garayev, won the 50-meter small-caliber pistol (KÇTÇ-4) event with a score of 535. In the women’s competition of the same event, Leyli Aliyeva became the national champion with a score of 536.
