The international Grand Prix tournament in karate was held in Baku. About 1,200 athletes representing 14 countries competed for medals in the competition. The competitions were organized in various age and weight categories in both kata and kumite.
The players of the “Neftchi” Sports Club won 15 medals (3 gold, 5 silver, 7 bronze) of the competition. Among our karate players, Yagmur Mammadova (20 kg) among the girls, and Rza Jabiyev (25 kg) and Elnur Guliyev (60 kg) among the boys, emerged victorious in all their fights and won the title of tournament winner.
