The World Junior Judo Championship continues in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
Suleyman Shukurov (81 kg), representing the “Neftchi” Sports Club in our national team, has won the bronze medal at the championship. Our athlete started from the second round, defeating Mikhailo Simin from Serbia. He then advanced to the quarterfinals by overcoming Korean Seng-Min Kim. In this round, he faced Dutch Joshua De Lang and was defeated. In the match for the bronze medal, Suleyman Shukurov secured a confident victory over Tajikistan’s Muhammad Yusufzoda, claiming the third spot on the podium. It should be noted that this is our national team’s first medal at the World Championship.
