The European Championship and Championship in Kurash among juniors, youth and men was held in Batumi, Georgia.
Representatives of the “Neftchi” Sports Club successfully performed at the tournament and won 7 medals (3 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze).
Elgun Shirelizadeh, who competed in the 77 kg weight category in the competition among youth, demonstrated great determination and defeated all his rivals and won the title of European champion. Asim Selimli (+90 kg) took the third step of the podium.
In the men’s competition, Khalid Mammadov (60 kg) and Emin Hasanov (81 kg) were undefeated and became the winners of the continental championship. Ahmad Aghayev (73 kg) and Aghani Mammadov (90 kg) were awarded silver medals, and Hajali Gasimov (73 kg) was awarded bronze medals.
