Today marks the fourth anniversary of the Great Victory achieved in Karabakh, as Azerbaijan celebrates Victory Day. On September 27, 2020, in response to Armenia’s renewed military aggression, the Azerbaijani people, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, embarked on the Patriotic War to liberate occupied lands. Over 44 days of intense fighting, the valiant Azerbaijani Army advanced step by step, breaking through Armenia’s long-established defense systems. Our lands were liberated through the heroism, sacrifice, and blood of our soldiers, officers, and martyrs.

Victory Day was established by a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev, the Victorious Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, on December 3, 2020. According to the decree, November 8, the day Shusha was liberated, is celebrated as Victory Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On behalf of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to our people on the occasion of Victory Day.

Congratulations on your Victory, Azerbaijan!
