The European Wrestling Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, has concluded.
Greco-Roman wrestlers of “Neftchi” Sports Club, represented by the Azerbaijani national team, fought with determination on the last day of the competition and won 3 gold and 1 bronze medals. Our wrestlers Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) won all their matches and became European champions. Our other wrestler Ulvu Ganizade (72 kg) won the bronze medal of the prestigious competition.
It should be noted that earlier, Eldeniz Azizli (55 kg) and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) from our club were awarded the silver medal and bronze medal. Our freestyle wrestlers Ali Rahimzade (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg) and Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) won bronze medals at the continental championship. Our female wrestler Jala Aliyeva (57 kg) also finished in third place.
