The Men and Women Azerbaijani Boxing Championship was concluded held at the Boxing Center. Athletes from various cities and regions of the country, representing different clubs and sports societies, competed in the event. A total of 200 athletes (178 men and 22 women) from 41 teams participated in the competition.
The boxers of “Neftchi” Sports Club achieved great success by competing with determination in the championship. Our boxers won 18 medals in total, including 8 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze.
The following boxers from our team became Azerbaijani champions by winning all their bouts: Malik Hasanov (63.5 kg), Nabi Iskandarov (67 kg), Sarkhan Aliyev (71 kg), Murad Allahverdiyev (80 kg), Rauf Rahimov (92 kg), Anakhanim Ismailova (48 kg), Qizbes Iskandar (60 kg), and Emili Rzayeva (70 kg).
Only in the decisive final match athetles – Tural Sariyev (51 kg), Elbrus Adigozelov (60 kg), Mirsherif Kazimzadeh (75 kg), Mammad Guliyev (86 kg), and Malak Huseynova (66 kg) lost, earning silver medals. Other boxers from our club, Hasan Malikov (48 kg), Kanan Aliyev (54 kg), Shamil Askerov (60 kg), Elvin Ganbarov, and Fagan Mammadov (both 80 kg), placed the third in the competition.
It should be noted that “Neftchi” Sports Club took the first place in the team standings with 60 points.
