A backgammon tournament was held among employees of oil, gas and chemical industry enterprises jointly organized by “Neftchi” Sports Club and Social Development Department. In the competition held at “Meshal” Sports Complex, 35 oil workers (11 women, 24 men) in 14 teams competed for the title of winner.
The main purpose of holding the competition was to determine the composition of the women’s and men’s teams that will represent SOCAR in the tournament organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports among employees of state institutions in this sport.
Sevda Azizova, a representative of the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, won the title of winner among women in the competition. Samira Jafarova (Social Development Department) took second place, Sevinj Hasanova (Gas Export Department) and Nigar Bugriyeva (Department for Development of Labor Standards) took third place.
In the men’s competition, Mahir Mammadov, a representative of the Department for the Development of Labor Standards, rose to the leadership. Elnur Aliyev (Social Development Department) was second, and Kazim Gasimov (Information Technologies and Communications Department) and Telman Mirzayev (Carbamide Plant) were third. The winners and prize-winners were presented with diplomas, medals and valuable souvenirs by the “Neftchi” Sports Club.
