Today, “Neftchi” Sports Club’s athlete, competing in the 80-kilogram weight category, Abulfaz Abuzarli competed on the final day of the European Parataekwondo Championship held in Serbia. Firstly, our paralympian won Turkish athlete Arda Adem Ozkulu (23:9) in the quarterfinals and British Jozef Lane (12:3) in the semifinals, and faced South Korean Joo Jeong in the final. Despite losing the final (7:15), our athlete was awarded the silver medal of the continental championship.
It’s worth noting that earlier, another athlete of our club, Imamaddin Khalilov, won a gold medal at the European Championship.
