An employee of SOCAR’s Security Department and a representative of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, Elmir Tarverdiyev, had a successful performance at the European Powerlifting Championship held in Salo, Finland. Competing in the 67.5 kg weight category under the AWPC version, our athlete lifted 232.5 kg in the deadlift, earning the title of European champion. This result also earned our representative a silver medal in the absolute weight category.
It should be noted that 526 athletes from 13 countries competed for the medals at the continental championship.
