The U-15 and U-17 national championships in women’s wrestling were held at the Astara Olympic Sports Complex. For the first time, more than 60 teenage athletes participated in the competition held in this format.
The athletes of the “Neftchi” Sports Club won 5 medals (4 gold, 1 bronze) of the tournament. Our wrestlers Gunel Karimli (50 kg), Inji Abdullayeva (58 kg), Esra Mammadli (61 kg) and Fidan Babayeva (65 kg) fought confidently, defeated all their rivals and became the champions of Azerbaijan. Our other athlete Maryam Hajiyeva (46 kg) took third place.
