The Baku city championship and championship in kung fu were held at the Shagan Olympic Sports Complex. 350 athletes from 34 teams competed for medals in the tournament.
The athletes of the “Neftchi” Sports Club performed confidently and won 15 medals (7 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze) of the competition. Among our athletes, Umid Maharramov (22 kg), Hasan Zeynalli (36 kg), Ali Alasgarli (42 kg), Nijat Tagiyev (48 kg), Aykhan Mamedov (56 kg), Abulfaz Yagubov (60 kg) and Mahammad Bagirov (71 kg) emerged victorious in all their fights and ascended to the highest step of the podium. Eltaj Alasgarov (42 kg), Hikmet Nasrullazadeh (48 kg), Rasul Jabiyev (52 kg) and Sardar Jabbarov (56 kg) were awarded silver medals. Our other representatives – Elmin Guliyev (33 kg), Amil Ismayilli (36 kg), Alizamin Maharramov (48 kg) and Ali Feyzizadeh (65 kg) – finished the tournament in third place.
It should be noted that “Neftchi” Sports Club took first place in the team standings.
