The U-20 Azerbaijan Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship , which started on February 11 at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex, continues. Today, the competitions organized among freestyle wrestlers ended.
Freestyle wrestlers of “Neftchi” Sports Club fought confidently in the republican championship and won 20 medals (8 gold, 2 silver, 10 bronze).
Our representatives Bashir Verdiyev (61 kg), Haji Karimov (65 kg), Ismayil Rahimli (70 kg), Omar Gulmammadov (74 kg), Mahammad Abbaszadeh (86 kg), Anar Jafarli (92 kg), Ravan Musayev (97 kg) and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) won all their matches and became the champions of Azerbaijan. Eljan Ismayilzade (65 kg) and Shamistan Akhundov (92 kg) were awarded silver medals. Other members of our club – Huseyn Huseynov (57 kg), Zamin Mammadov (61 kg), Agha Gasimov (65 kg), Nurlan Aghazade (70 kg), Heydarali Saidov (74 kg), Vusal Aliyev (79 kg), Vasif Khudiyev (86 kg), Huseyn Mammadtagizade (86 kg), Khayal Askerov (92 kg) and Abdulla Sharif (97 kg) – finished the national championship in third place.
“Neftchi” Sports Club won the tournament with 205 points in the overall team score.
It should be noted that the national championship will be concluded on February 14.
