The Ministry of Youth and Sports announced the best of 2024 in various nominations. The event, held at “Buta Palace,” was attended by leaders of sports organizations, federations, media outlets, athletes, coaches, and representatives of the sports community.
“Neftçi” Sports Club secured second place in the “Best Sports Club of the Year” nomination.
In the “Best Women’s Club Team” category, our 3×3 basketball team also ranked second.
“Neftçi” judoka and Olympic champion Hidayat Heydarov was named the winner in the “Best Male Athlete of the Year” category.
In the “Best Female Paralympian” category, our representative Lamiya Valiyeva (para-athletics) claimed the top prize, while Dursadaf Karimova (para-judo) ranked second, and Konul Suleymanova (para-swimming) finished third.
In the “Best Male Paralympian” category, all three places were awarded to athletes from our club: Imamaddin Khalilov (para-taekwondo) secured first place, Said Najafzadeh (para-athletics) ranked second, and Ilham Zakiyev (para-judo) finished third.
