The Azerbaijani Chess Championship for men and women in the rapid and blitz formats was held. Eltaj Safarli, representing the “Neftchi” Sports Club, scored 14 points in the men’s rapid and blitz tournaments, becoming the national champion. In the women’s competition, Gulnar Mammadova also achieved the same success, scoring 12.5 points and winning the gold medal.
It should be noted that the winners and prize-winners have earned the right to represent our country at the World Championship to be held in New York, USA.
