An event was held at “Neftçi” Sports Club on 27 September to commemorate Memorial Day.
The event highlighted the bravery, courage, and heroism displayed by our valiant soldiers during the 44-day Patriotic War, and emphasized the unity and solidarity demonstrated by our nation. Deep respect was expressed for the memory of our soldiers and officers who fought heroically for the independence of Azerbaijan and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country, as well as for all our martyrs.
At the end of the event, a minute of silence was observed at 12:00 PM to honor the memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War. Prayers were said for the souls of the martyrs, and their cherished memory was honored with deep respect and reverence.
It should be noted that based on the decree issued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on 2 December 2020, 27 September is observed as Memorial Day in our republic as a sign of deep respect for our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War, hoisted the Azerbaijani flag on the liberated lands, and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.
