The XVII Summer Paralympic Games held in Paris, the capital of France, have concluded. Azerbaijan was represented in this prestigious tournament by 18 athletes in 7 events. Our team finished the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games with 11 medals (4 gold, 2 silver, 5 bronze). Our country ranked 28th among 169 countries in the medal standings.

It is a source of pride that all the medal-winning Paralympians in this prestigious competition are representatives of the “Neftçi” Sports Club. Notably, our athletes, Imamaddin Khalilov (parataekwondo, 70 kg), Said Najafzadeh (T12 category), Orkhan Aslanov (T13 category, both in long jump), won gold medals, Lamiyah Valiyeva won gold (100 meters sprint) and silver (400 meters sprint), Raman Saleh won silver (100 meters backstroke) and two bronze (100 meters freestyle and butterfly stroke), Sabir Zeynalov (parataekwondo, 58 kg), Vali Israfilov (100 meters breaststroke), and Ilham Zakiyev (parajudo, +90 kg) won bronze medals.
