With the support of SOCAR and organized by the “Neftçi” Sports Club, the opening ceremony of the SOCAR-2024 mini-football tournament, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the “Contract of the Century,” was held among the employees of oil, gas, and chemical industry enterprises. The event was organized at the covered field of the Baku Olympic Stadium, where the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played first, and the cherished memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country was honored with a minute of silence.

Afterwards, participants were provided with detailed information about the “Contract of the Century” and the tournament dedicated to it. Following the opening ceremony, the first-round matches began.

It should be noted that 28 teams will compete in 7 groups, with 4 teams in each group. The teams that finish in the top two places in the group stage, as well as the two best third-placed teams, will qualify for the final stage. The tournament will continue until September 21st. The matches will take place on Saturdays at the covered fields of the Baku Olympic Stadium.
