Lamiya Valiyeva, a para-athlete from the “Neftchi” Sports Club, became a world champion for the fourth time in her career, made a historic achievement in Azerbaijan Paralympic sport. Our athlete achieved this success at the World Championships held in Kobe, Japan. She won gold medals in both the 100-meter and 400-meter races at the championship.
It should be noted that with this achievement, the 22-year-old Lamiya Valiyeva is the second athlete after Rafael Aghayev (a five-time world champion in karate) who have won more than three world championships among athletes who have participated in the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games during the years of independence.
