Vali Israfilov, a para-swimmer representing the “Neftchi” Sports Club, secured the gold medal at the Open European Championship held in Madeira, Portugal. Our Paralympian achieved this remarkable achieve on the third day of the competition by swimming the 100-meter distance in the breaststroke swimming.
It’s worth mentioning that another para-athlete from our club, Raman Saley, became the European champion in backstroke swimming over 100 meters on the prestigious competition’s first day. On the second day, he was awarded the silver medal for swimming the same distance in butterfly swimming.
