In Salvador da Bahia,
Brazil finished the world championship among the youth.On the last day of
competition organized among young girls in “Neftchi” Sports Club‘s
representatives Sabira Aliyeva (72 kg) reached the final without any
trouble. At the decisive stage, our
wrestler defeated by Japan’s athlete Rino Obey, awarded by silver medal of
world championship.Totally 2 gold, 2
silver and one bronze wining our female athletes, gathered 47 team points and
after Japan (66 points) took the second place. Russia with 47 points became the
3rdbecause of medal differences.In freestyle
wrestling competitions, in 55 kg fighting our club’s athlete Mahir Amiraslanov,
gave no chance to the Indian Ravi Kumar and lived the joy of world
championship. Arif Huseynov (50 kg) even though defeated Japan and Kyrgyzstan
athletes, but lost to the Iranian wrestler at semi-final. Fighting for bronze
medal encountering Armenian representative Razmik Misakian, won with the result
of 4:2 and became 3rdin world championship.Thus, “Neftchi”
Sports Club young wrestlers’ medals reached 8 at world championship held in
Brazil. Remember that in first days of competition, Greco-Roman wrestlers,
Murad Mammadov achieved gold, Islam Abbasov and Karim Jafarov silver and Ruhin
Mikailov bronze, in girls Turkan Nasirova also achieved a gold medal.
