“Neftchi” Sports Club
organizes competitions on various kinds of sport among oil, gas and chemical
industry workers on memorable days of the year. One of these events is
Spartakiade held each year in September, on the eve of the professional holiday
of oil workers with the aim of Popularization of sport, healthy growth of young
people, and the organization of leisure time of the oil workers.This year 19thcompetitions of oil, gas and chemistry workers are being held. 31 teams of company
are taking part in the event. In this prestigious competition, participants
will compete in 14 kinds of sports (mini-football, athletics, swimming,
volleyball, streetball, stonelifting, chess, checker, backgammon, table tennis,
darts, rope pulling, shooting and armwrestling). Competitions will be held in
the Training-Sports Complex named after Tofig Ismailov, Surakhani settlement, in the kind of swimming competitions will be held “Start”
Sport Complex (near “Neftchilar” Metro station) and in the kind of athletics
competitions will be held in Ismet Gayibov Sports Training Base, Bakhikhanov
settlement. Spartakiade, which started on 7 September, will finish its works on
the 13th day of the month.The grand opening
ceremony of the spartakiade will be held in Tofig Ismayilov
Olympic Training-Sports Complex on September 8 at 16:00.
