“Neftchi Sports Club” Public Union consider its priority issues the
protection of the health of oil, gas and chemical industry enterprises workers of
SOCAR and their family members. Therefore, the institution organizes
competitions on various sports among them and helps spending their leisure time
effectively.On April 27, the club realized the first open tourism race of the year on
orienteering among oil, gas and chemical industry workers and other
organizations. The competition held in the forest strip between Lake Khojasan
and the Baku Shooting Centre and the teams of Geophysics and Geology-1,
Geophysics and Geology-2, OGPU named after N. Narimanov, Gas Storages Exploitation Division
Department, Maintenance and Supply Department, Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery,
“Absheron Oil” OGPD, “Gas Export” Department and “28 May”
OGPD.The main purposes of the competition were the development of orienteering
sport, to instill the the habits of workers to adapt to the natural
environment, to explore new forms of competition and to promote tourism, as
well as, to identify the members of the national team of “Neftchi Sports Club”.Firstly, the main referee of the competition Natalia Aliyeva and the
referees Suleyman Aliyev, Shahriyar Ismayilov, Faig Aliyev and Tatyana
Solovyova gave information to participants about the race and its rules. As a
rule, the composition of the team was composed of 5 members (3 men, a woman and
a representative). In the team race the winner had to be determined by the best
result of 3 men and a woman.The rules of the competition were as follows: 11 control stations for
men and 10 for women had been determined in the forest strip. The length of the
route was 3700 meters for men and 3100 meters for women. Member of the team after
had to take the race map and compass from the starting point, then had to begin
to search for control points. There were e-recorders in the control points.
After finding the electronic point the participant had to include the chips
into the e-recorder. This point had been recording the time and the sequence of
the recording. The race participant had to return to the finish, after finding
all of the control points with consistency and present the chip to the brigade
of the referees. Member of the team had to get throw the race at the latest 2
hours. If the member couldn’t do it, he had to leave the race. The club had also
set up diplomas and awards for the individual winners between men and women. Of
course, this had been creating additional enthusiasm in the active participants
of the race. If they had lost in the team score, they would attain a chance winning
the individual competition, at the expense of their personal preferences.The race was being started via the draw and participants were competing
individually. Every two minutes the next team member was getting into the
forest strip and then was beginning to search with the help of map and compass
in hand. The participants had to work very precisely with a compass and map to
reach one point from another point. Otherwise, they would have directed in the
wrong direction. Of course, all these were provoking them to be more careful.So, orienteering race ended. According to the general results, the team
of “Geophysics and Geology-1” became winner of the race. The team of
“Geophysics and Geology-2” was the 2nd and the team of “Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery” was the 3rd.Maxim Bakholdin rose to leadership
among the men. Muslum Imranli was the second and Shanlik Fataliyev was the
third. In the individual race of the women Ekaterina Yakovleva became the first.
Natalia Shiyanova was the 2ndand Yanina Mashkova was the 3rd.Besides, “Neftchi Sports Club” had also
appointed the nominations on participants reaching the finish line in the
shortest time. Maxim Bakholdin was winner of the nominations among the men with
the result of 34.39 minutes and Ekaterina Yakovleva was the winner among the
women with the result of 34.52 minutes.In the end, at the award ceremony the manager on physical training of “Neftchi Sports Club”
Public Union Akif Mammadov made a speech and conveyed greetings and best wishes
to all the participants and referees on behalf of head of the administration of
“Neftchi” Sports Club Sadig Sadigov. He expressed satisfaction with the
participation of people from different sectors in the race. The club official
spoke about the state care for the sport and the Olympic Movement and emphasizedthe attention to the health of the
citizens of the country. At the end of the speech the speaker expressed deep
gratitude to the participants for their active performances and the
brigade of the referees for the excellent organization of the race.In the total team score and individual competitions (men and women) 1st,
2nd and 3rd place holders were awarded the diplomas and memorable gifts of “Neftchi
Sports Club”.
