The taekwondo fighter of the “Neftchi Sports Club” Aykhan Tagizada won silver medal at the 29th World Summer Universiade in Taipei City, Taiwan. Our athlete (68 kg) won the French athlete Franco Mattey (19:7) at the first match. Later, our representative won Yakub Barnett (Great Britain) – 17: 9 and Javier Peres (Spain) – 9: 7 and reached the semifinal. At this stage, he won a brilliant victory over armenian sportsman Sergey Vadazaryan (31:14) and qualified for the final. In the decisive match, Ayxan Tagizadeh lost to Boris Krasnov from Russia and won a silver medal of the prestigious competition.Recall that on the first day of the Universiade our judoist Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) had won a gold medal.
