Haci Aliyev, freestyle wrestler of the “Neftchi Sports Club” won the gold medal at the World Wrestling Championship in Paris, France. Double world champion, bronze medalist of the Rio Olympics H.Aliyev (61 kg) won over all the rivals and reached to the final. On the way to the finals, our wrestler defeated rivals from Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Slovakia and Cuba. In the final, Haji Aliyev’s opponent was Russian sportsman Hajimurad Rashidov. 30 seconds before the end of the match, our athlete won absolutely.Thus, Haji Aliyev became the first wrestler of the three-time world champions in the history of freestyle wrestling.Note that, another Greco-Roman wrestler Elvin Mursaliyev (80 kg) won a bronze medal in the first days of the World Championship.
