The 2017 World Judo Championship has finished in Budapest, Hungary.The tournament brought together 782 judo fighters from 39 countries. Azerbaijan’s national team has been represented by 17 judo fighters (9 men and 8 women).On the last day of individual competitions the national team has added 2 bronze medals to Azerbaijan’s haul at the world championship.We should note with great pride that both of these judokas are the athletes of the “Neftchi Sports Club”.The judo fighter Elmar Gasimov (100 kg) has won a bronze medal of the world championships. He has won the medal after defeating his teammate Elkhan Mammadov.And female judoka Irina Kindzerska has claimed bronze at the championship in the 78 kg weight category.So, judokas of the national team and “Neftchi Sports Club” have brought home a clutch of 4 medals, including two silver and two bronze.Recall that the last days of the championship the athletes of our club Orkhan Safarov (60 kg) and Rustam Orujov (73 kg) had also won 2 silver medals.The national team has taken 8th place at the mixed team competitions.
