Club’s another athlete has gained bronze medal at Judo Grand Prix competition,
held in Jeju,the city of South Korea. In
100 kg weight category, Elmar Gasimov has won over Pakistan representative
Hussain Shah, Iranian Javad Mahjoub and Russian Arsen Omarov and he has reached
to the semifinal.At this stage, our
judoka has lost to Cuban athlete Armentoros Yoze, but our judoka has won
Japanese Kensuke Sakamoto in the fight for bronze medal. Gasimov has won his
opponent with ippon and he has been awarded the bronze medal of the race.And struggling with
the same weight category, club’s other judoka Elkhan Mammadov has ranked in the
7thplace.Note that, in the previous days of the tournament club’s
graduates Orkhan Safarov (60 kg) and Rustem Orujov (73 kg) won bronze medals.Thus, Azerbaijan
judokas have gained 3 bronze medals in Jeju Grand Prix and all of them belong
to “Neftchi” Sports Club’s representatives.
