International Judo “Grand Prix” tournament ended held in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. The Azerbaijani team won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals at the prestigious tournament where 346 judokas (214 men, 132 women) from 62 countries participated.Fortunately, all three medals were won by the judoists of the “Neftchi Sports Club”. Elmar Gasimov (100 kg) qualified for the finals after defeating Aklmurodbek Khudoyberdiev (UZB), Askhab Kostoev (RUS) and Jorge Fonseca (POR). In the final, Elmar Gasimov lost the Israeli judoka Peter Palchik.In this weight category, medals were presented by the head of the management of the “Neftchi Sports Club”, Vice President of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, Mr. Sadig Sadigov.The other judokas of the club, Mammadali Mehdiyev (90 kg) and Irina Kyndzerska (+78 kg) üon bronze medals of the tournament.
